The Arduino Compatible Joystick Module is perfect for adding a method of control to your projects which include but are not limited to; controlling servos, DIY remote controllers or interactive projects. The joystick module features female Dupont pins to interface with microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, Teensy, STM32 to name a few.
The joystick uses two potentiometers to measure movement along the X and Y axes. As the joystick is moved, the resistance of the potentiometers changes, generating analog signals that correspond to the joystick’s position. These signals range from 0V to 5V and can be read by the Arduino to determine the direction and extent of movement. In the neutral position, the output is about 2.5V, and full movement to either side gives 0V or 5.
The joystick module includes a built-in push button activated by pressing down on the joystick. This button acts as a simple digital switch, connected to the SW pin, which can be read by a digital input pin on the Arduino. When pressed, the button sends a LOW signal (0V), and when released, it sends a HIGH signal (5V). This feature adds versatility for additional user input beyond the joystick movement.
