How does it work?

A reed sensor consists of two thin, ferromagnetic reed switch contacts enclosed in a protective glass tube. When exposed to a magnetic field, the contacts are drawn together, completing an electrical circuit. This change in the magnetic field triggers the sensor to detect the presence or absence of the magnetic field, allowing it to accurately sense the opening or closing of doors, windows, or other moving objects in a wide range of applications.
